Material: Blue sun drying DIY material bag
Specific operating steps for blue drying:
1. Preparation materials: There are many media that can be used to make blue sun drying
For example: Watercolor paper, postcards, photo paper, pure cotton cloth, fans, wood, stones, etc
You can create patterns such as photo negatives, or choose any flattening materials around you: leaves, petals, Paper Cuttings and other objects with obvious outlines.
2. Photosensitive liquid: a specialized chemical reagent for blue sun exposure.
A Ammonium ferric citrate B Potassium ferricyanide
Mix the two potions evenly in a ratio of 1 to 1.
Both reagents are strictly prohibited from consumption and should not come into direct contact with the skin. If a small amount is accidentally touched, please rinse it off with clean water as soon as possible.
3. Painting photosensitive liquid
In an environment where there is no sunlight, lay the cloth or paper flat and keep your hands dry. Dip a brush in the medicine solution and apply it evenly to the paper or cloth. Do not apply it too thick, you can first apply it vertically and then horizontally, and apply the solution evenly on the paper. After coating, air dry naturally and avoid light (the key is to avoid ultraviolet light, and of course, avoid sunlight). You can gently dip a tissue into the surface to remove any excess liquid.
The paper dries quickly and can wait for it to dry before proceeding to the next step;
The cloth dries very slowly. If it is ensured that the coating is uniform and the surface liquid is absorbed without dripping, the next step can be taken.
4. Placement
Lay the paper or cloth that was previously brushed flat on a flat surface such as a glass board or ceramic tile floor. Place plant leaves, flower petals, Paper Cuttings, carvings or other objects on them. After placing, press on a layer of transparent glass or acrylic board. The tighter the compression fit, the clearer the effect.
5. Exposure:
Suntime: 20 minutes to half an hour in winter and 10 minutes to 20 minutes in summer.
It is recommended to sun it outdoors and not expose it through glass windows indoors, as most window glass is UV resistant.
After exposure to the sun, the areas that are suppressed and invisible turn yellow green, while the areas that are visible turn blue black and dark.
6. Development:
Remove the items placed and rinse with running water for about 10 minutes. Eventually, you will find that the washed water is already clear rather than yellow.
Blue sun images are unique in every step of the production process, as they are filled with changes.
